The metal clip firmly secures the clipper guard onto the blade and extra teeth help feed hair into the blade for a cleaner cut. The set includes 8 guards: #3 (3/8), #4 (1/2), #5 (5/8), #6 (3/4), #.5 (1/16), #1 (1/8), #1.5 (3/16) and #2 (1/4). These are compatible with all FX870, FX880, FX825, and FX673 models
